Mark F. Kaplan

Founder and CEO

Mark F. Kaplan produced the pre-Broadway tryout of Are We There Yet? starring Donna Murphy when he was 23. Among his numerous directing credits are productions of  Lost in Yonkers, Biloxi Blues, To Kill a Mockingbird, Love Letters (with Tony Dow), Deathtrap, Doubt, Side Man, Danny and the Deep Blue Sea, Hooters  Cabaret, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, and The Great American Trailer Park Musical.

Over 35 years, Mark has worked across talent management, coaching, creative development, and production. His film and television credits include Broadway Bound, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, The Water Engine, Cooperstown, The Heart of Justice, Percy and Thunder, The Habitation of Dragons, Amelia Earhart, The American Clock, and the stage pilot Legionnaires, which featured a then-unknown Dave Chappelle.

Mark is developing several theatrical projects. Coming to Off-Broadway is re:Connecting by David Javerbaum (Tony nominee, two-time Grammy winner, 13-time Emmy winner) and Zina Goldrich (Drama Desk nominee, Fred Ebb Award winner). Also in development: a stage production and film adaptation of Jim Leonard's The Diviners, and three other works from David Javerbaum; a revival of the Broadway smash, An Act of God, with the world premiere of it’s companion piece, The Devil You Don’t, and monologue cycle Talking Dogs. Mark also recently co-produced Andre de Shields is Tartuffe and is directing Me, Myself and Other for the United Solo Show in the Spring of 2026.

Mark has served on numerous nonprofit boards and was a founding board member of the Albert Einstein Academy. A graduate of Sarah Lawrence College, he served six years on its Alumni Board and was recently honored with the Citation of Service Award.
